Renoviction By-law Survey

We are working on a renoviction bylaw to help protect renters from situations where they may lose their homes unfairly during major repairs or renovations.
The Rental Renovation Licencing bylaw (commonly called a “Renoviction Bylaw”) would make sure landlords obtain a license before renovating rental properties and give renters the details they need to decide whether they want to move back into their home once the work is done. It’s about keeping the process fair, transparent, and safer for everyone.
We’re asking the community to help us refine proposed bylaw directions to:
- make sure tenants can be protected;
- provide the information people need make decisions;
- make sure the application requirements are reasonable;
- remove unnecessary challenges the bylaw requirements may create, and
- make the bylaw and processes clear and easy to navigate.
Our survey will walk you through different sections of the bylaw for your feedback.
